To support mutual recognition of qualifications with EU and international partners, the UK government is supporting professional bodies to enter into arrangements which enable the recognition of professional qualifications overseas.

A Mutal Recognition Agreement (MRA) is a formalised agreement between 2 or more parties. These agreements may provide a streamlined process by which professionals who have obtained a professional qualification in their home jurisdiction, can apply for recognition to practice in another, overseas jurisdiction.
