Data showing the leak

School saves 60% water

A secondary school in the UK had 2 Quensus smart meters installed, monitoring 3 different areas.
They could then see their monthly consumption rate, including contribution from different areas of the site, which allowed them to check if they were being charged the correct amount in their bills.
However, the greatest benefit came within hours of installation, which found water being wasted at 3,600 litres per day when the site was closed.
The school was alerted automatically, on the same day of installation, and could see which branch the leak was coming from. They then fixed some faulty cistern valves a week later.
The school more than halved their water bill, saving £3,000 per year.
2 months later, another set of valves failed. Quensus automatically caught the anomaly, which was wasting over 9,000 litres per day, and sent the appropriate alerts.
The school saved a further £8,000 per year!
