Tipner interchange- Portsmouth, UK

After Construction - Aerial view
The works involved the construction of a new interchange using the existing underbridges on the M275. New traffic management was installed at Rudmore roundabout and a new sign gantry constructed on the M275. The project also included the construction of a 650 space Park & Ride facility with a dedicated bus lane into the city, accessed from the motorway via a newly built junction provided Southbound to Rudmore Interchange. Helping Portsmouth City Council to realise a fifty year vision, the regeneration of Tipner, has cleaned up a formerly derelict and disused area and prepared it for development as a business and residential site. The investment and new infrastructure promises significant economic growth, jobs and housing for local residents. Delivered on time and within budget, the project has solved a number of problems for Portsmouth, from reducing congestion and improving air quality, to answering the transportation needs of its residents, commuters and visitors.
