ABI lands a contract with Bombardier Transportation in China

Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation was awarded a contract to provide 10-year overhaul service for 498 metro cars operating on Shanghai Metro’s lines 7 and 9 in 2017. The aging electronic sub-assemblies required of specialised fault diagnostic and maintenance equipment for its upkeeping.

Representatives from ABI and Bombardier met in Berlin at Innotrans 2018 and agreed to define the best configuration available from ABI to meet the strict and complex demands of Shanghai Metro. ABI products are fully designed and manufactured in the UK. Applications for ABI systems range from military and rail transport to aerospace, automotive, energy, among other industries.

ABI's vast experience and reputation from dealing with over 50 train operators across the world played a key role in Bombardier's decision to work with the company. ABI's technical manager Wesly Lo conducted a seminar in Shanghai and Bombardier awarded the contract to ABI for its complete range of products.
