Jersey Airport Contingency ATC Facility

Ports of Jersey turned to SIL to deliver this ‘turnkey’ project that included an ATC Operations Room and Equipment Room. The whole project was managed by SIL through to full operational approval by the Channel Islands Director of Civil Aviation as a Contingency Facility in 2017.
SIL were involved from the project’s inception by providing full system design. The Contingency Facility is unique in the UK being a fully IP connected system, and proposes to be one of the first true ‘Digital Tower’ concepts to go into operation in the UK.
The SIL project team ran the equipment procurement process, writing and issuing specifications and jointly evaluating multiple tenders along with the Jersey Airport management team. SIL’s highly skilled installation team installed the state-of-the-art systems, on time and in budget.
