Description

Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) a National Laboratory and Federally Funded Research and Development Center RDC) operated by The Trustees of Princeton University, a US Department of Energy Prime Contractor wishes to solicit proposals in response to Request for Proposal (RFP) 24-081C for a qualified and capable contractor to provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to manufacture and deliver one 10MVA transformer (XQT-3) with an option to manufacture and deliver one 20MVA transformer (XQT-1) to Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory located at 100 Stellarator Road, James Forrestal Campus, US Route 1 North, Princeton, NJ.
Please review the attached Statement of Work (SOW) for a detailed description of the required services including the following:
Base Scope: Manufacture and delivery of one 10MVA transformer (XQT-3) with a 138kV primary winding and a 4.16kV secondary winding.  Services include site support during installation and commissioning of the new transformer.
Option Item 1: 20MVA transformer (XQT-1) with a 138kV primary winding and 4.19kV secondary winding.  Services include site support during installation and commissioning of the new transformer.
The subcontract award will be for the Base Scope.  Option Item 1 will be exercised at the sole discretion of PPPL.
This procurement is unrestricted, full and open.  The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 335311 Power, Distribution, and Specialty Transformer Manufacturing.

There will be a Pre-Proposal Videoconference scheduled for 10 AM (EST), Wednesday, October 9, 2024.  Firms must return the RFP Acknowledgement Form contained in the RFP to receive information to attend the event.  Attendance is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged.
Proposals are due to PPPL by 4:00 PM EST, Friday, November 1, 2024.
This announcement shall not commit PPPL to issue a subcontract for this effort, or to pay any costs incurred by offerors in the preparation and submittal of proposals in response to this RFP.
