Description
The project "Further development of financing instruments for renewable energies under the EEG" is intended to provide scientific advice to the BMWK on the development and evaluation of concepts for securing the expansion of renewable energies. Concrete options for the future design of the financing mechanism in an energy system based entirely on renewable energies are to be developed and evaluated. The aim is to ensure that the financing mechanism is suitable for securing investments in renewable energies even in a greenhouse gas-neutral electricity market in order to achieve a target-compliant expansion of renewable energies. In addition to developing the options for action, the focus is on supporting the evaluation of these options with regard to cost efficiency, system and electricity market integration, system usefulness, system conversion, diversity of actors, legal feasibility and other evaluation criteria. At the same time, the concepts to be developed should be compatible with European requirements, including the requirements of the KUEBLL and the Internal Electricity Market Regulation.
With a view to the further development of the electricity market design as a whole, the integration into a new electricity market design, e.g. into different design variants of various capacity mechanisms for controllable capacity, will also have to be considered.
