Verbandsgemeindewerke Konz is planning to set up a heating network for climate-neutral heat supply in order to maximize the proportion of renewable energies.
maximize the share of renewable energies. The heat is to come from environmental heat from the nearby watercourse, waste heat from sewage treatment plant processes and sewage gas from existing CHP units. The heating center will be built on the site of the municipal sewage treatment plant in the north of the supply area (not part of this tender), from where three districts in Konz are to be supplied. The tender includes the engineering services required to set up the Konz city center heating network
