Description
VGN Resources Group Inc. (VGN) will be the Program Administrator for projects under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food's (Ministry) extension programming for environment and climate change. This RFP and project is administered by VGN on behalf of the Ministry. The purpose of this contract is to update content for the Grazing Management Guide to support B.C. livestock producers in understanding grazing management on-farm but also to provide support as a reference material for the EFP and BMP program. Updating the guide will also include additional livestock species as well as developments in grazing management tools and resources. Additionally, updating the Guide will help to increase understanding of the benefits and considerations related to certain grazing practices that can enable livestock operations in B.C. to refine and enhance grazing management. The contractor will review the current B.C. Grazing Management Guide and update it, which will include retaining long standing grazing knowledge but updating the information and adding additional information to reflect a greater portion of livestock species grazing in B.C., alternative grazing systems, and the current state of grazing management. Work will also include creation of materials for education of EFP advisors and grazing mentors following the update of the Guide.
