Description
The University of Alberta is inviting the submission of Proposals to supply an upper limb exoskeleton for the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This equipment should include a uni-/bi-lateral upper limb exoskeleton with actuated and/or sensorized shoulder, elbow and wrist joints, and real-time control/data acquisition hardware and software. The Department will use this equipment in combination with existing technologies (e.g., motion capture, electromyography/EMG, and galvanic skin response/GSR sensor) to acquire movement and physiological data, to create a world-class multidisciplinary research facility, enabling a synergistic strategy to study human motor control and develop innovative robotic assessment and therapeutic paradigms. The successful proponent will be expected to supply, install, maintain and provide training for the proposed equipment.
This purchase is being partially funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation and the purpose of this RFP is to finalize this grant process and acquire the specified equipment.
