Description

Whitefield Business School (WBS) is a private higher education provider in Mauritius. It started operations in 2007 and has has now grown into a highly reputed institution, rated among the best in the country, with international partners such as Lincoln University College and NCC Education (UK). WBS is now looking for a comprehensive partnership with a UK Higher Education institution to dispense top-up degrees for their diplomas as they expand in a bigger campus.

WBS, attracts students from Asia, Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.  It works with 70 registered student recruitment consultants in Africa and Asia.

It is building a new campus that will be able to cater for more than 1,500 students.

It plans to start recruitment from Zambia, Botswana, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe and Franco-African markets (Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Abidjan, Gabon, Rwanda), and open its first office in India.

WBS offers

  • bachelor courses in administration and hospitality management
  • level 3 and level 7 courses
  • short courses in public speaking, cyber laws, professional English/French courses, customer service, computer forensics, compliance and strategic management
  • CPD courses

They want to increase their academic offers and propose UK education to prospective students. They are looking for a UK university for a comprehensive partnership in:

  • business management
  • construction and build engineering
  • marketing management
  • law
  • computer science / IT

On a short-term plan, they want to start with a partnership for top up degrees for their existing diplomas (comprehensive partnership). On a second leg, discuss with the partner university what new courses not offered by WBS, they can bring to market.

This potential partnership will allow the UK institute entry into the African market by being based in a secure jurisdiction that has a strong business community and where there is application of the rule of law.

Moreover, Mauritius being part of the SADC and COMESA, students from these other member states are eligible for local tuition fees: WBS can tap into the African market. Moreover, students from the region looking for an international experience find education in Mauritius more affordable than travelling to the UK.
