The town of Perleberg is located in the north-west of Brandenburg, close to the borders of Lower Saxony, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saxony-Anhalt in the district of Prignitz. The Perleberg outdoor pool was built in the 1960s in connection with the large housing estate Perleberg Ost. The now 60-year-old outdoor pool is to be renovated in order to preserve it as a cultural facility and meeting place for many Perleberg residents. Total project costs (KG 300-700) of approx. EUR 2.1 million including VAT were calculated for this as part of a cost estimate. The social and changing room building is only partially used due to its partially desolate condition, the technical facilities are outdated, the hygiene standards no longer meet current requirements and there are restrictions in terms of accessibility throughout the site. By renovating the site, the open-air pool is to be preserved for the population of Perleberg and the region in the future. It should be as barrier-free as possible and the quality of the technical facilities and bathing hygiene should be improved. The project is to be partially funded by the federal program SJK (renovation of municipal facilities for sport, youth and culture). The aim is to achieve certification in accordance with the "Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings" (QNG) or at least to take into account the criteria specified therein (friction house gas emissions and primary energy demand, sustainable material extraction, avoidance of pollutants in building materials, accessibility, natural hazards, green roof potential).
