Description

Cork Education and Training Board (Cork ETB) are seeking to establish a Multi-Party Framework Agreement for the Provision of Engineering Consumables for Apprenticeship and Non-Apprenticeship Courses to Cork College of FET – Bishopstown Campus and to other Cork ETB, FET Campuses as may be required for the lifetime of the framework. Lists are based on requirements of the Standards Based Apprenticeship Craft of Metal Fabricator along with requirements of training for plate and pipe Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Metal Inert Gas (MIG) and Tungsten Inter Gas (TIG) welding courses. Tenderers must be able to provide steel cut into 3-meter lengths or 300mm lengths or other specified lengths as required. The certification and quality of the required materials is critical to Apprentice training and education. The curriculum for these training courses involves the working with and fabricating from metals such as low carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and aluminium. Apprentices will work with thin metal sheets which they bend, cut and shape using hammers, small presses, roller machines and guillotines. Goods provided under this framework must be of commercial/ industrial standard and suitable for several uses in a training environment. There are many different defined standards for metalwork materials and the quality of the material under this contract must meet the relevant standards imposed in Ireland, ASTM, EN, JISC ISO etc and where relevant SEC marking. Mill Certification will be required for apprenticeship “Specialised Steel”.
