Description
The Bundesforstbetrieb Lüneburger Heide manages the Munster North, Munster South and Bergen military training areas, the Faßberg airbase, the Wendisch Evern training area and other smaller properties in eastern Lower Saxony.
The forestry operation area of around 28,500 ha is divided into two operational areas, each with eight forest districts.
The Bundesforstbetrieb Lüneburger Heide intends to invite tenders for timber harvesting measures with a total annual volume of approx. 36,000 cubic meters (felling and timber harvesting of short timber, cuttings and industrial timber) and in lot 5 a total annual volume of approx. 4,000 cubic meters of timber harvesting (felling with own personnel, timber harvesting by contractors).
The logging mainly comprises pine and spruce. Other tree species (larch, Douglas fir, birch, etc.) may be harvested to a lesser extent during the thinning measures.
