Description
The island of Vilm is a site of the Federal Agency for Nature Conservation and is located to the south of the port of Lauterbach. The arrival and departure of employees and guests is carried out by federally owned motor launches (works traffic) between the port of Lauterbach and the jetty on the island of Vilm (approx. 2.5 km distance). The government-owned motor launches are not iceworthy and therefore cannot be used on the aforementioned route when the ice cover is closed. For this reason, an icebreaker or another ice-going vessel is required to ensure the access and egress of employees and guests between the port of Lauterbach (island of Rügen) and the jetty on the island of Vilm during the winter months.
Service operations on Vilm generally take place from Monday to Friday, although trips may also be required at weekends (Saturday and \/ or Sunday) due to the conference operations of the International Academy for Nature Conservation on Vilm Island.
From Monday to Friday, at least 8 crossings from Lauterbach to Vilm Island and back must be completed within a maximum period of 12 hours per working day. Additional trips are required between 06:40 and 18:30, depending on conference operations. In the period from 05:00 to 21:00, an ice-capable vehicle must be available at the place of use. Any deployment and standby times can only be invoiced during this period.
The service period begins after the conclusion of the contract in December 2024 and runs until April 2028. The call-off takes place as required in the respective winter season (December to April). The icebreaker must be available at the deployment site at short notice, but no later than 5 days after being called up. The crediting of deployment and standby times begins upon arrival at the port of Lauterbach.
