"The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is planning to convert individual existing areas at the Fraunhofer Institute for Technological Trend Analysis INT in Euskirchen into physical laboratory areas. The flood event in North Rhine-Westphalia on July 15, 2021 caused severe damage to Fraunhofer INT. The "Laboratory complex conversion" project aims to create and secure the first essential laboratory space for operations by converting the first floor of the new office building (E+1) and library.
As part of the measure, the existing administrative areas (supporting structure \/ building shell intact), which were gutted in the course of flood relief, are to be converted into physical measuring rooms and laboratories with a net floor area of approx. 530 m2, along with an approx. 65 m² radiation protection area (isotope laboratory) - during ongoing operations.
