Description

The four-storey building at Sedanstraße 60 is to be upgraded for the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in terms of electrical engineering and fire protection. The building, which was completed in 1938 as part of a barracks and was used as an elementary school for the children of members of the British armed forces after the end of the Second World War, has been leased since 2009. From the basement to the 3rd floor, the building has a usable area of approx. 4,220 m 2 , with the unused top floor being unused. The building is constructed of masonry walls and reinforced concrete ceilings; the façade is uninsulated, plastered and painted. The ridge height of the hipped roof covered with roof tiles and fitted with dormers is 17.00 m, the eaves height is 10.50 m. The building has external lightning protection. The room height in the basement is 2.275 m, from the ground floor up to and including the 2nd floor the room height is 3.15 m and in the attic it is 3.00 m. The building is used for teaching, research and practice in the Industrial Design and Didactics of Technology course.
