Description
The Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) is the competent nature conservation authority in the exclusive economic zone of the North Sea and Baltic Sea (EEZ) within the remit of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV) in accordance with Section 58 of the Federal Nature Conservation Act (BNatSchG). For the fulfillment of nature conservation tasks within the German waters of the North Sea and Baltic Sea, ocean-going vessels, including crew, are to be chartered for the BfN - Division II 3. It is intended to conclude the ship charter framework agreement for the period 2025 to 2028.
A wide range of different work is to be carried out on the voyages both in the German territorial sea (within the 12 nautical mile zone) and in the German EEZ (12 to 200 nautical mile zone) (subject to approval by the relevant authorities involved).
The object of the service is the chartering of seaworthy vessels that meet the various operational requirements.
