Description

The existing buildings and structures at the BR site no longer meet operational requirements. This applies to both functional and structural/technical criteria. In the future, it will no longer be possible to meet the increasing requirements and standards, particularly in the areas of hygiene and safety. A renovation of the existing building substance with conversion and extension measures would be very complex, costly and time-consuming and would not bring any significant improvement in functional and procedural terms. It was therefore decided to construct a new replacement building in Bad Reichenhall that could ideally accommodate all acute inpatient beds and facilities at the current Bad Reichenhall site. This new replacement building will be known as Zentralklinik Berchtesgadener Land (Zentralklinik BGL). In a later expansion stage (expansion stage 2), Zentralklinik BGL will also be able to accommodate the acute inpatient beds and facilities at the Berchtesgaden site. The new building, which will be developed into a central emergency and acute care clinic, is intended to concentrate, specialize and expand the range of services within the region. The focus of services will be in the area of comprehensive, already established conservative and surgical emergency and acute care, supplemented by gynecological/obstetric services and pulmonary medicine. Thanks to the newly created building structures based on the aforementioned focal points of care, Zentralklinik Berchtesgadener Land will be the heart of acute inpatient care in Berchtesgadener Land. Together with the Traunstein Clinic, it forms one of the two focal points of care in the network of clinics in south-east Bavaria. The new Berchtesgadener Land Central Hospital will be built close to the current hospital and will have a capacity of 240 (level 1) beds as well as space for the following functions: 1. diagnostics and therapy with a. central emergency admissionb. central elective admissionc. medical services Medical services Endoscopye. Functional diagnosticsf. Laborg. Radiologyh. OP departmenti. Obstetricsj. Therapy center2. Five general care wards3. Maternity ward4. Intensive care unit with integrated stroke unit5. Palliative care unit6. Helipad7. General services and hospital management a. Logistics b. Parking garagec. Staff changing rooms. Food supply/cafeteriae. Management/administration8. Additional wards in expansion stage 2 (with approx. 100 beds) With regard to architecture and open space planning, the new hospital building is to be integrated into the overall urban development concept of the town of Bad Reichenhall and the natural surroundings of the mountain landscape - with the aim of creating a new hospital building geared towards the future, which, despite economic challenges, meets the requirements of a modern hospital to the highest degree. The following ideas must therefore be taken into account in the design: To provide a modern, medical offering, to keep staff satisfaction at the highest level, to focus on the feel-good factor for patients, and to focus on the sustainability and cost-effectiveness of the new central clinic. The focus should be on the patient - therefore, a structural environment must be designed that promotes the recovery process, creates short distances and consistently aligns structures and processes with the needs of patients. Employees should feel comfortable in their working environment. The central clinic must therefore be designed to be employee-friendly, so that the working conditions for nursing staff and doctors are optimal. In addition to good accessibility of the clinic for employees, it is particularly important to create appropriate structures to provide employees with optimum support in their interaction with patients. Zentralklinik Berchtesgadener Land will be an "academic teaching hospital", as is currently the case at Kreisklinik Bad Reichenhall. In conjunction with extensive further training authorizations for the chief physicians, the recruitment of staff in the medical service can be significantly improved. Jobs can be secured in the long term and staff turnover can be reduced through high job satisfaction. Climate-friendly energy generation, sustainable, resource-saving construction and low energy consumption during operation are important in the structural implementation. Zentralklinik Berchtesgadener Land should not cause any avoidable environmental pollution or damage, but should instead align itself with the German Climate Protection Plan 2050 and its sub-targets in a forward-looking manner. Accordingly, it should be possible to operate the clinic in a largely greenhouse gas-neutral manner by 2050. In summary, the new central clinic should at least meet the requirements of the "Green Hospital Plus" initiative with regard to an overall ecological and economic concept.
