The school building currently used by the "Grundschule am Roten Berg" elementary school in the Gorndorf district of Saalfeld is in a very poor structural condition and cannot be renovated for economic reasons. As part of this construction project, the adjacent building of the former district center in reinforced concrete skeleton construction will be gutted, fundamentally renovated and extended by a timber extension.
