The Cologne district government is a modern, citizen-friendly authority and central point of contact for administrative services with around 2,000 employees at various locations. In addition to the main location in Cologne city center, there are other offices in Cologne Braunsfeld, among others.

Around 1,400 people are currently employed at the Cologne city center location. As a modern employer, the Cologne district government offers its employees the option of teleworking, of which around 1,200 employees currently make use of approximately 50% of their working hours.

The canteen of the Cologne district government is located in the Börsenplatz 1 office building in 50667 Cologne and has approx. 158 seats and 6-8 standing places on 2 levels as well as up to 40 seats on a terrace in the inner courtyard of the building, depending on the season.

In the first half of 2024, the canteen sold 25,673 lunch meals (excluding salad buffet, sandwiches, etc.).

A kiosk is located in the Zeughausstraße 8 office building, which is approx. 5 minutes' walk (approx. 500 m) from the canteen.

All rooms such as production facilities, storage, sanitary facilities and social rooms are located on the first floor and have the facilities and equipment required for canteen operations.

The catering services, which are described in more detail below, include breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Furthermore, the offer of freely calculable conference catering is expected. This primarily includes hot and cold drinks, pastries, fruit, sandwiches, etc. The scope and frequency of this catering is determined by the respective events held at the Cologne District Government.
