Germany - The city of Wolfsburg intends to build two new three-field sports halls.

Description

The city of Wolfsburg intends to build two new three-court sports halls at the Fallersleben school center. Two outdated existing sports halls from the 1970s and 1980s are to be replaced. The new building will be constructed on the basis of an architectural competition in the area next to and in place of one of the existing halls along the southern boundary of the school center (address: "Schwimmbad 12e, 38442 Wolfsburg-Fallersleben"). The planning window is located in the vicinity of the Fallersleben swimming pool and other sports facilities. The project comprises two three-field halls with changing rooms and equipment rooms as well as grandstands for 199 (eastern hall) and up to approx. 600 people (western hall) as well as a connecting structure between the two three-field halls, which accommodates entrance, foyer and access areas, technical rooms as well as toilets and a multifunctional room. The sports of handball, rhönrad and badminton, along with school sports at the Fallersleben school center, are exemplary focal points for the use of the new halls. The new buildings have a combined gross floor area of over 5,000 m². Commissioning is scheduled for the course of the 2020s. The processing of work phases 1-3 (HOAI), for which a planning decision has been made, will begin immediately and extend until the end of 2025/beginning of 2026.the planning prerequisite is the continuous usability of two three-span halls at all times, even during the new construction and dismantling phases. This requires new construction planning and later realization in stages. Adjacent to the existing halls, the first, western new hall will be built together with the connecting structure and then the western existing hall will be demolished. The second, eastern new building will then be erected in the area of the demolition site and then the second existing building will be demolished. The planned construction project is characterized by the following project features:1. building type: sports/leisure facility 2. type of measure: new construction 3. gross floor area: 5834 sqm 4. special features: existing building must remain in operation, multi-stage procedure (budget release based on HU-Bau, RLBau)
