Description
The aim of the process is the structural reactivation of the station building in Neustadt an der Orla through the implementation of a future-oriented utilization concept. The historical and architectural features of the building are to be preserved and at the same time combined with contemporary elements to enable sustainable and versatile use. These measures will enhance the station building and thus contribute to the development and strengthening of the town.
-
The listed station building is located around 900 meters from the center of Neustadt an der Orla in the eastern part of the town, in a mixed-use area. The bus station, which is currently being redesigned for the State Garden Show, is located in the immediate vicinity. The bus station and the area around the station are to be redesigned to create a modern public transport hub for trains, buses and bicycles.
In Triptiser Straße there are stores for daily needs that are easily accessible.
-
The access road to the station is paved and easy to drive on. The architecture of the building is impressive, with a timeless clinker brick façade, old railings and sandstone steps on the outside. Inside, there are two winding wooden staircases that catch the eye. These architectural details give the building an unmistakable charm.
-
The planning approach of the State Garden Show creates a beautiful path that leads from the city park to the train station and on to Buteile Park, which will be the core zone of the 2028 State Garden Show. On this path, visitors can enjoy nature and admire the old architecture of the railroad station at the same time. There are cozy places to rest along the way, surrounded by green spaces. This creates a beautiful connection between the station building and the parks, inviting visitors of all ages to explore the area.
-
The planning of the building has been awarded to a planning office. This firm will develop a sustainable utilization concept with 2 variants by September.
-
The task includes analyzing the existing structure and developing a structural concept that takes into account both the requirements of the renovation and the new design and functional requirements of the project. The structural engineer must work closely with architects, civil engineers and other specialists to ensure that the structural concept fits seamlessly into the overall design.
-
Experience in the renovation of old buildings and in-depth knowledge of the various building materials and construction methods are required.
