Description

The aim of the Energy Export Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) is to support German companies (UN) from the climate-friendly energy sector in entering foreign markets and to promote German products and services internationally. For small and medium-sized UN (SMEs), expansion into new markets is associated with high transaction costs and risks. In addition, individual companies generally do not cover the entire spectrum, while end customers prefer turnkey energy solutions from a single source. It can therefore make sense for several SMEs with different competencies along the value chain to form a consortium.
The project exploration trip (PER) is intended to offer the UN the opportunity to get to know potential projects abroad together. A group of complementary UNs, which together can offer a comprehensive solution, are introduced to a specific project (fact-finding mission). During the trip, visits and business meetings are held with the group to enable a comprehensive analysis and discussion. The aim is to jointly identify specific system solution requirements and develop corresponding solution approaches. In addition, potential business scenarios are outlined in order to assess the feasibility and profitability of the projects. Another important aspect is the direct contact and exchange with important project stakeholders such as authorities, partners and potential customers in order to build networks and promote cooperation.
The possibility of support in forming a consortium is discussed during the trip and jointly determined at the end of the trip.
The German missions abroad, the chambers of commerce abroad (if they are not acting as the implementing agency themselves) and relevant representatives of other German programs in the target market must be involved in the preparation and program planning as well as in the program implementation in an appropriate manner. This can be done, for example, by involving them in the briefing of the delegation and within the event(s) in the target country.
