Description
The client intends to erect a gantry crane system at the Contargo Emmelsum terminal and is therefore putting this out to tender.
One container gantry crane is installed at the Contargo Rhein-Waal-Lippe GmbH transshipment site in Emmelsum. The crane is used for the trimodal handling of containers between barge - storage area - truck - train. The crane is regularly subjected to high loads.
The crane is specified as follows:
? Container gantry crane 1 - factory number 833043
It is intended to extend the existing terminal by 130 m in expansion stage 1 and by a further approx. 162 m crane runway length in expansion stage 2.
A new container gantry crane is planned for expansion stage 1. The new container gantry crane is to be adapted to the future handling capacity and the crane area to be covered.
Container gantry crane 1 was put into operation on 12.07.2002. In the period 07\/2002 - 11\/2012, the crane worked sporadically and was underutilized and most recently out of operation.
It was put back into operation in 12\/2012.
In 2016, the first terminal repairs were carried out to the existing dimensions. The crane runway foundation was renewed on the landside and the water-side and landside crane runway beams were fitted with a new AS86 crane rail and new rail fastening systems. The landside crane runway track was designed to be driven over.
The landside jib on container gantry crane 1 was extended, the cable towing system lengthened and the crane wheels adapted to the new crane rail profile.
In the further period of use, the gantry drives were repaired in 2018 and completely modernized in 2021 with the associated control system adapted to the operational requirements.
Crane 1 completed more than 16,000 operating hours between 2016 and 2022.
The mileage can be classified as high.
Overall, it is estimated that the container crane system1 is under-designed for current and future container handling in terms of its steel construction classification and the engine groups.
In order to ensure the future increase in handling capacities in terminal operations with high availability and low maintenance costs, it is necessary to replace a second container gantry crane system with higher technical parameters in terms of steel construction classification, drive unit group, speeds, land and water-side outreach and a fail-safe control system.
The technical data of the new crane system must meet the current and future requirements for effective handling and terminal operation. Further information can be found in the service specifications (equipment package 08).
ATTENTION: The preparation of an offer is reserved for the subsequent negotiation procedure, for which the applicants must qualify in this competition. The preparation of a bill of quantities (Annex 08) or the quality sheet (see the annexes to the bill of quantities in Annex 08) is therefore expressly not required in the call for tenders. At this stage of the procedure, both annexes and the statements in sections 7.1 to 7.3 are of purely informative significance.
The draft contract (BVB) is still being drawn up and will be made available to the bidders in the subsequent procedure directly at the start of the negotiation procedure. This draft contract, which contains market-standard and balanced provisions on cooperation between the client and contractor, is to be negotiated with the bidders in the subsequent negotiation procedure.
