Description

The challenge is looking for startups, registered training organisations (RTOs), and universities with advanced technologies (at least Level 5 on the technology readiness level (TRL) scale) or early-stage solutions offering innovative proofs of concept.

Key challenges to address

Iron ore calcination and reduction: Innovative eco-efficient methods for Erzberg’s iron ore calcination and reduction, improving efficiency and reducing emissions.

CO2 off-gas treatment: Advanced technologies to capture and utilise CO2 emissions during the processes.

Byproduct valorisation: Innovative methods to valorise CO2 and other byproducts from Erzberg in the steel or other industries.

Ten cadidates will be selected to pitch their ideas at an online event in October. Three finalists will present solutions at a final event in Austria in early December.
