Canada - Site Assessment, Engineering and Design for the Telkwa Fire Base

The Ministry is seeking to develop and improve the Telkwa Fire Attack Base to provide an adequate and healthy workspace for current and projected staffing levels.The Telkwa Fire Attack Base was substantially developed in the early 1990’s and designed to support 30 users during peak summer months. Since then, the number and nature of emergency services that this base support has expanded to approximately 45 users during core season and some operations are now conducted year-round. The future need is anticipated to be up to 61 users. The base mainly consists of 5 ageing mobile trailers and two buildings made of conventional construction.The current facilities are insufficient in size and age. Improvements, repairs or demolition is required. The objective is to provide a new efficient, cohesive working environment for staff and crews working at this Fire Attack base.The proposed solution is new infrastructure that will consolidate several of the existing buildings, along with the renovation of an existing building to provide a more effective workplace.This RFP will include a site assessment exercise to finalize a site plan and space planning to develop preliminary conceptual floor plans for the new building and the existing building that will remain.Additional site investigations also included in this RFP are a geotechnical assessment, a topographical survey, an environmental impact assessment and an archaeological assessment. Engineering studies will need to be performed to create a tender ready design for the new wastewater treatment and disposal system, storm water management and civil services for the new development.The anticipated term of the Contract is from October, 2024 to March, 2025.Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
