Description

The proposed contract requires the provision of approximately 230,000 cubic metres of partially developed, with some new, multi-phase block assessment and layout services for timber sale licence development located across the TFL 49, Adelphie, Barton, Big White, Bolean, Graystokes, Mission, Paxton, and Skaha operating areas in the Okanagan-Columbia Business Area. The contract will require a range of qualified professionals and technical staff working in various conditions including isolated areas. Forest development activities will include but are not limited to total resource plans, block planning, block/road layout, timber cruising, site plans, assessments (blocks, roads, bridges, terrain, windthrow, stream, wildlife, visuals, OGDA verification, fuel modification etc.) and timber sale package preparations.Contract deliverables will be planned for completion throughout the fiscal year to meet the business area quarterly targets. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations.
