Schwedt/Oder is the most important industrial and energy location in the Uckermark region and beyond in the north-east of the state of Brandenburg and is economically significant for the entire state. In the course of the political focus on climate change and the energy transition at federal and state level, the Schwedt/Oder refinery region is one of the regions in Brandenburg most affected by the transformation to a climate-neutral economy, alongside the lignite mining region of the Lusatian coalfield. The urgency and speed of the necessary transformation process at the Schwedt refinery site have been significantly accelerated by the embargo on imports of Russian crude oil imposed by the European Council since the beginning of 2023. In order to actively support this transformation process, the city of Schwedt/Oder has been able to draw on funds from the GRW experimentation clause since December 2022. Communication about the ongoing structural and transformation process as the future most important green industrial location in north-eastern Germany and a national park city worth living in is an important pillar in the acceptance and implementation of the ongoing strategy process. In addition, the most important location factors and the innovative strength of the city of Schwedt/Oder are to be communicated using a wide variety of reporting formats in order to present the city with all its potential for companies, institutions and skilled workers both regionally and nationally. The experiences of recent months have shown the need for the existing public relations campaign of the Schwedt Transformation Lab to gain exponential relevance and reach. This is the only way to communicate the projects of the Transformation Lab and at the same time integrate the topics, activities, projects and channels of the local companies, institutions and stakeholders relevant to structural change and transformation into the public relations work in an operational and communicative manner. In addition, new content, such as the communication concept, has been created in the course of the project to date. This concept serves as an essential basis for participation and networking of the Transformation Lab Schwedt/Oder. For the public relations support, it was thus determined that broader communication is necessary, e.g. in the areas of graphics and layout, content maintenance and creation for social media channels, PR services. There is a need to respond to the very dynamic environment, to expand and update communication and to implement the communication concept. For this reason, the city of Schwedt/Oder is inviting tenders for the service of integrated communication of the structural change and transformation process at the Schwedt/Oder business location.
