SBH | Schulbau Hamburg is a state-owned enterprise of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as SBH) with the task of planning, building, maintaining and managing school properties in accordance with economic principles, taking school requirements into account, and leasing the more than 400 schools to the Ministry of Schools and Vocational Training (BSB).

The buildings were constructed in the 1960s and were clad with asbestos-containing facade panels, which are to be completely dismantled and disposed of. The windows and glass façades are also to be removed and disposed of in sections due to the build-up of PCBs.
