SBH | Schulbau Hamburg is a state-owned company of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (hereinafter referred to as SBH) with the task of planning, building, maintaining and managing school properties according to economic principles, taking school requirements into account, and leasing the more than 400 schools to the Ministry of Schools and Vocational Training (BSB).

Building 12, which is to be renovated, is located slightly away from the main site of the district school
Poppenbüttel and is accessed via the Schulbergredder road. The school building is entered in the list of monuments of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg under the number 26898. The dating indicates that the oldest part was built in 1890.
According to existing plans, the long extension was planned between 1933 and 1936 and was probably built in 1936. In 1958, a two-storey WC wing was added to the extension. In 1960, a 3-storey building with specialist rooms was added to the southern end of the existing building. This part of the building is not included in the list of monuments and is therefore not part of the monument.
The refurbishment serves to improve the substance of the building and restore it to the current state of the art. Particular attention is being paid to the fire protection upgrading of the wooden beam ceilings and the renewal of the sanitary and electrical installations.

The drinking water installation is completely renovated, the waste water installation is only adapted and repaired. The main components are:
11 WCs ; 3 urinals ; 13 washbasins ; 1 barrier-free WC facility with washbasin ; 3 workroom basins with sludge trap ; 6 instantaneous water heaters
150m cast iron waste water pipes ; 50m plastic waste water pipes ;
400m drinking water pipes incl. thermal and condensation water insulation.
