Description
This Request for Proposals (the 'RFP') is an invitation by the Province of Nova Scotia (the 'Province') as represented herein by the Minister of Service Nova Scotia, for and on behalf of the Nova Scotia Health Authority ('NSHA', and together with the Province, 'Nova Scotia'), to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Laundry Services as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the 'Deliverables'). This RFP is being conducted pursuant to the Nova Scotia Sustainable Procurement Policy and Procurement Manual. NSHA requires weekly personal laundry services to be provided to the veterans housed in individual living units at the Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial Building, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Veteran’s Laundry Services includes supplying laundry bags, picking up soiled clothing, washing, re-washing, drying, hanging/folding, sorting and delivering clean clothing. NSHA service for scrubs, including but not limited to, lab coats, casting aprons, scrub tops, scrub bottoms, patient slings/lifts and heat pack covers requires laundry services on a scheduled and as requested basis at various hospitals and clinics throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. As part of the Sustainable Procurement Policy, the Province is committed to purchasing goods, services, and construction in a manner that is cost effective, and better for environment, and our communities. The Province seeks to work with suppliers who have the knowledge and capacity to apply the principles of sustainability to their own operations.
