Description

The Town invites proponents to submit proposals for the development of a comprehensive active transportation wayfinding signage strategy and implementation plan for the Town of Saugeen Shores. The project will take into consideration the principles of wayfinding to develop a product that will inform a path forward for wayfinding signage within the community. The project will take into consideration the principles of Saugeen Shores Bicycle Friendly Community status and recommendations proposed by the Town’s Bicycle Friendly Community ad hoc Committee, and The Saugeen Shores Transportation Master Plan.  These principles include:Connecting People with Places: Ensuring signage effectively links users to key community amenities, attractions, and destinations.Promoting Active Travel: Encouraging the use of active transportation by providing clear and direct navigation.Maintaining Motion: Facilitating continuous movement with minimal stops and clear directional guidance.Simple, Clear, and Logical: Designing signage that is easy to understand and follow.Predictable: Ensuring consistency in signage to build user familiarity and confidence.Inclusive: Designing signage that is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.Community-Driven Design: Involving community partners in the design process to reflect community needs and identity.The completed project will integrate existing regional strategies, including but not limited to RTO7s and the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
