Description of services:
The German Aerospace Center purchased a laser transceiver from Lockheed Martin in 2009:
Model: WindTracer, Model No: 2MA0003470-0500 REV 1, SERIAL NO: 1001.
The laser transceiver is part of a Windlidar system that is currently under construction. In addition, the wind lidar system is currently being approved for operation on the HALO research aircraft.
The laser transceiver is currently not functional. The laser pulse energy is < 1 mJ, and the laser pulses are not adequately seeded. This means that wind measurements are not possible with the current laser performance.
For this reason, the following activities are requested as part of this request for quotation/request for proposal:
