Description

Project management for the implementation of the ETCS Corridor Rhine-Alpine measures.
The major ETCS Corridor Rhine-Alpine project involves equipping the German section of the Rhine-Alpine TSI (train control, protection and signaling) corridor from Oberhausen Sterkrade to the border with Switzerland (Weil am Rhein) with the uniform European train control and protection system ETCS (ETCS L1 LS and ETCS L2) on the TEN (Trans-European Network) Rhine-Alpine corridor.
The large-scale project is divided into three sub-projects: West, Central and Southwest, as well as the commissioning control system. The major project also includes the route of the POS North. The south-west sub-project and POS North extend from Weinheim to Weil am Rhein and from Ludwigshafen to SaarbrĂĽcken. The services requested in this tender relate exclusively to the south-west sub-project and the POS North.
The Southwest sub-project will be passable with ETCS-only trains in 2030. Further sections will be equipped with ETCS after 2030. DB InfraGO AG has committed to meeting these deadlines. The sections of the south-west sub-project, including the signal boxes, will be put into operation in stages, with the first start-ups having already taken place.
In order to guarantee the equipment targets, the south-west sub-project and POS North require support in project management in service levels 2 (planning) and 3 (execution preparation, execution, project completion).
