Initial situation The potsdam.de website is the central and most important digital communication channel at the heart of the city's online presence and was last completely revamped in 2013. It offers comprehensive information and services on a wide range of topics. From citizen services and life in Potsdam to tourism, culture, education and business, it serves the interests of all target groups. Through simple links, potsdam.de provides access to the municipal portal for citizen services as well as to external offers. Within the administration, there are numerous other digital projects that are being worked on with varying degrees of priority and intensity, e.g. the implementation of the Online Access Act, the creation of a KITA portal, the creation of a participation platform and many projects as part of the Smart City strategy. In order not to generate isolated solutions, but to achieve the best possible user experience, these projects are to be integrated into potsdam.de in future on the basis of defined interfaces. Technical data Technologically, potsdam.de is based on the content management system (CMS) Drupal version 10. The reach and use of the website are documented by the analysis software Matomo, which recorded around 2,600 unique visitors and around 15,200 page views per day in 2023. With more than 30,000 indexable URLs, the website offers an immense depth of information and resources. The city administration operates around 50 other specialized websites, including the websites of the city and state library, municipal museums and cultural institutions, which are geared towards specific interests and needs. As part of the web relaunch, the number of external offerings will be significantly reduced by integrating numerous topics or shutting down obsolete websites.
