Description

Portage College is a post-secondary institution in Northeastern Alberta. Portage College has seven campuses located in Lac La Biche, St Paul, Cold Lake, Good Fish Lake, Saddle Lake and Boyle. We offer driver education courses for Class 1 and 3 licensing. The truck to be purchased through this tender will be used for Class 1 MELT and Class 3 courses.

Tender bid sheet:
-Supply of two (2) Tractor Trucks
-Delivery of Unit: June 30, 2025 (fiscal year end)
-Bid Total including GST: $540 000 ($270, 000/unit)
-Bids from all manufacturers will be considered.

Truck Specs:
-New (Unused) and model year 2023 or newer
-Winter ready and available to operate in all winter conditions in Alberta
-Be willing to deliver to ST Paul

-Low roof Sleeper Cab with bench vs bed with two doors Cab air suspension
-Window in the sleeper

-400 HP or better Cruise control
-Engine idle shut down- timer enabled.
-Winter front.
-Radiator bug screen.
-Engine oil pan heater (including plug)
-Equipped with block heater

Electrical:
-4 batteries
-160-amp alternator or better

Frame and Equipment:
-Front tow hooks
-Front Mud Flaps.
-Tire Fenders for rear tires
-Frame access grab handles (LH, RH, and horizontal mounted) 
-Frame Mounted Toolbox

Fuel Tanks and Equipment:
-Fuel Tanks:
(1) Fuel tank capacity: 110 US gallon 24.5 aluminum BOC
(2) Fuel tank capacity: 90 US gallon 24.5 aluminum BOC DEF to fuel ratio 2:1 or greater
-Anti-siphon device in fuel tank filler neck

Tires and Rims:
-Front Tires: Z11R24.5 16 P
-Rear Tires: 11R24.5 16PR
-Front Wheel: 24.5 x 8.25 AL
-Rear Wheel: 24.5 x 8.25 AL

Operation and Familiarization Manual:
The apparatus manufacturer shall supply, at delivery, a customized Operation & Familiarization Manual, complete with full-color photos of the actual, completed apparatus with each feature and control identified and its function explained. Safety, Operation, Maintenance and Troubleshooting sections will include information about each major component of the apparatus (chassis, pump, foam system, generator, electrical devices, etc.). The manual shall be specific to the apparatus (or group of apparatus) being delivered

Bumper to Bumper Warranty:
Minimum ONE (1) year from the date of delivery, except for chassis and other components noted below.

Truck Body Warranty:
The manufacturer shall warrant to the original purchaser only that the all-aluminum body, under normal use and with reasonable maintenance, be structurally sound and remain free from corrosion perforation for FIVE (5) years.

Base Warranty- Emissions:
Five (5) years or 160,000km

Warranty- Paint:
The paint guarantee will cover the vehicle's areas finished with the specified product for a period of FIVE (5) years beginning the day it is delivered to the purchaser. The full apparatus body, manufactured and painted by the manufacturer, shall be covered for the following paint failures as outlined on the guaranteed certificate: Peeling or delaminating of the topcoat and/or other layers of paint. Cracking or checking. Loss of gloss caused by cracking, checking, or hazing

TENDER EVALUATION
Portage College reserves the right to accept or reject any or all tender bids and to waive irregularities and informalities at its discretion. By the act of submitting its Proposal, the Bidder waives any right to contest in any proceedings or action the right of Portage College to award the Services to any party in its sole and unfettered discretion. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Portage College will evaluate tenders based on the following:

Added value/contract savings/extra services that enhance the proposal. 10%

The College reserves the right in its sole discretion to accept or reject all or any individual units as provided in the tender call. Failure to submit requested documents may result in tenders being rejected or reduced points being assigned.

Response Specifics
Should a vendor have multiple units, please supply specifications and pricing on all in stock. NOTE: Possession scheduled for before July 1, 2025 (New Fiscal Year).

Should we need to order a unit, the order will be placed in April 2025 for delivery prior to June 30, 2025.
