Description
The Ministry of Health (Ministry) is seeking proposals to develop, implement, and maintain a training program on Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT). This program will be for pharmacists, pharmacy students, and pharmacy technicians employed in community pharmacies and other settings that provide services related to OAT. The training program must align with provincial guidelines, regulations/bylaws, the College of Pharmacists of BC’s (CPBC) Professional Practice Policies and BC PharmaCare policies.The Provider Regulation under the Pharmaceutical Services Act requires all pharmacists working at pharmacy providers enrolled in the OAT provider sub-class to have completed all relevant training as required by the CPBC with respect to OAT services. The CPBC’s Professional Practice Policy 66 states that all pharmacy managers, staff pharmacists and relief pharmacists employed in a community pharmacy that provides pharmacy services related to buprenorphine/naloxone, methadone or slow-release oral morphine maintenance treatment must successfully complete the relevant training program. This RFP is for the training program required to meet these regulatory and policy requirements.The term of the Contract is expected to be from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2028. At the sole discretion of the Ministry, the Contract may be extended for up to two (2) x two (2) year extensions.The approved budget for the initial term is $230,000.00Further details as to the scope of this opportunity and the requirements can be found within this RFP.
