Description
Location of the construction site:
The construction project is located in the public road network of the Hamburg - Eimsbüttel district.
Brief explanation of the construction project:
Due to the removal of the US Consulate General and the associated dismantling of the security facilities on the banks of the Alster, the approx. 240 m long planning area must be redesigned.
Cycle route 4 runs through the planning area, connecting the city center with the Harvestehude, Winterhude, Eppendorf and Alsterdorf districts to the north-west of the Alster. Cycle route 4 is one of the most frequently used cycle routes in Hamburg (on average approx. 5,000 to 8,000 cyclists per day).
The focus of this measure is on improving cycle routing along the Alster and closing the gap between the two adjacent sections of cycle route 4.
