Notice of Intent to Direct Award a Contract Date: November 8, 2024 File# NOI 23-40Overview:Notice is hereby given by the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) of its intent to contract the provision of one (1) unit of evaporative condenser at Cowichan Community Centre (CCC), located at 2687 James St, Duncan, BC V9L 2X5, as follows: Supplier NameDescription of PurchaseValue of AwardCIMCO Refrigeration Inc., a Division of Toromont Industries Ltd.Supply and installation of the following: a new ammonia evaporative condenser (Model: FRICK ECC -512-218) 14-gauge heavy duty galvanized coil Galvanized eliminators, perimeter railing with safety ladder and gate 20 HP 575/3/60 ACH580 with Eclipse Bypass The estimated value is $241,594 Canadian dollars, excluding taxes. Value and Availability: The CVRD is a member of Sourcewell and Canoe Procurement Group of Canada (the “Sourcewell and Canoe”) and is eligible to procure through the cooperative contracts administered by Sourcewell and Canoe. CIMCO, a qualified supplier under Canoe’s Sports Arena Supply Program (Contract: 120320-CIM, Contract Valid Until: January 8, 2026), offers a unit of evaporative condenser that is available for delivery and installation within the CCC’s expected shutdown period of May 1 to July 15 and at a competitive price.
Operational Consistency: All CVRD arena facilities utilize CIMCO equipment, including a condenser installed at the Cowichan Lake Sports Arena and a chiller and heat exchanger at Kerry Park Recreation Centre in 2024. CIMCO has been performing maintenance on refrigeration equipment at the CCC for many years. Awarding this project to CIMCO ensures operational consistency within the facility.
Local Service Support and Emergency Request Capability: The Supplier employs local service technicians who are currently providing both as-request and emergency maintenance and repair services to existing refrigeration equipment. The Supplier also offers 7 x 24-hour emergency support.
Expertise: The Supplier possesses specific expertise and knowledge related to the evaporative condenser and is particularly familiar with the CCC’s site condition.
