Description
This Contract is for the construction of a new ±1.25 km long gravel-topped access road to the east side of the Nipawin Hydroelectric Station (NHS) from a SaskPower Outpost Building adjacent to Highway 35. The Contractor shall also regrade and resurface approximately 815 m of the existing Main Dam embankment access road beyond the endpoint of new road construction at Sta. 1+250. The regrading and resurfacing work outside of the new road construction area shall extend all the way to the right abutment of the spillway concrete structure. Contractor shall provide all the material, labor, and equipment to complete this Work.
The Work also includes installation and removal of temporary erosion and sediment control measures; topsoil stripping; clearing and grubbing; excavation; embankment construction; supply and installation of non-woven geotextile; supply, placement, and compaction of granular sub-base course; supply, placement, and compaction of granular base course; grading, supply, and placement of traffic gravel on top of the new access road and Main Dam embankment; culvert installation, topsoil placement, and mechanical seeding.
