New construction of the Fraunhofer Center for Energy and Climate Technologies in Aachen
Non-open single-phase realization competition according to RPW 2013 with subsequent negotiated procedure according to § 14 para. 4 no. 8 VgV
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft intends to construct a new building for the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Energy (IEG). In order to meet the urban planning requirements of the city of Aachen for the "Büchel" in terms of building size and utilization concept, the building is to consist of two components:
1. workplaces for three thematic research groups (approx. 66 MA), an overarching working group
2. a "knowledge showcase" with a dialog area on the first floor (approx. 20-40 events)
Main usable area approx. 1,060 sqm, further ancillary usable and technical areas, garage for 7 cars and 50 bicycles, exceptional inner city location (archaeology, structural remains in the ground, securing of neighboring properties); BNB Silver certification
