Description

Title: Lower Montague Slip Reconstruction
Scope: The work covered under this contract consists of:
1. Demolition and removal of the existing concrete slip.
2. Construction of a new reinforced pre-cast concrete slip.
3. Supply and installation of concrete rip rap rock groin.
Summary:
The existing slipway will be demolished, including the removal of underlying earth, disposed. It will be replaced with new rock fill and class A gravel, topped with larger precast rebar-reinforced concrete panels extending slightly beyond the original footprint. These panels will be connected with steel rebar, maintaining the original footprint. A rock groin and slipway toe will be added, increasing the area by approximately 75m².
Familiarization with Site:
Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense and schedule, to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
Take all appropriate safety measures before any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.
The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by March 15th, 2025.
