Description

Limerick City and County Council is issuing this Request for Tender for the provision of direct support in the delivery of the ‘Limerick Greenway Hubs Project’ under the Rural Resource Development Fund (RRDF). In early 2024, Limerick City and County Council applied for Rural Regeneration Development Fund (RRDF) Category 1 funding to:  Redevelop the Ardagh Station House, as a major attraction and visitor experience Hub together with amenities on the surrounding outdoor site at Ardagh.  The construction of a new car park (80 parking spaces) together with a new services building at the Limerick Greenway Hub at Newcastle West for commercial, community and tourism use.  Redevelop the Barnagh Station House, which is a relatively small site, for community and tourism. The Station House will require an internal fit-out which will re-create as close as possible the look, feel and atmosphere of the old station house, as it was when the railway was in operation.  Re-develop the Railway Goods Shed at Abbeyfeale as a Greenway services hub including bike hire, coffee shop, toilet facilities and ancillary development on the site (seating, lighting).
