Description
Lawyers work in a wide range of fields within the police force. Many in the Police Services Centre (PDC). The PDC mainly consists of: the Human Resource Management department, the Facility Management department and the Information Provision department. The HRM department employs lawyers and other specialised staff in the field of labour law and employment conditions, including in objection and appeal procedures, disciplinary matters and management advice. The police bear the risk in the field of WW, WGA and ZW. Expert professionals are also deployed in these areas. Other lawyers work at the geographical police units. The units deal with privacy issues, advise on the so-called 'Korpschefwetten', deal with civil-law questions, including liability claims, prepare decisions in the field of the Government Information (Public Access) Act and advise on administrative law. The Legal Affairs department of the directorate of the police force advises the management of the police force and policy departments (Operations, Communication, HRM, FM, Finance and IV) at strategic level. This department contributes to corps-wide policy and advises on legislation and regulations and developments affecting the Police in its primary task and operational management. The police are (more or less) frequently looking for professionals in fields such as: - civil servants law, - collective action law, - participation law, - social security law, - ICT law, - privacy law (Wbp and Police Data Act), - procurement law, - contract law and liability law, - administrative law (i.In 2018 and 2019, an average of 17 applications per year will be submitted for the Legal category. The Police intends to use this category for a period of five years, starting on 21 March 2020, with an option to extend it twice for a period of twelve months.
