Description

Trinity College Dublin request the supply of a Semiconductor Parameter Analyser, which is required to support TCD’s advanced semiconductor research and educational objectives. The access to the equipment, procured through the Higher Education Research Equipment Grant (HEREG) programme 2024, will be extended to all eligible Trinity researchers, encompassing faculty, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students engaged in research activities across various disciplines. This in turn will promote interdisciplinary collaboration, encouraging researchers to influence available equipment and explore new research avenues. Through transparent and inclusive access mechanisms, this programme aims to maximize the impact of the funded equipment and foster a culture of research excellence and innovation within the Trinity community. A semiconductor parameter analyser is a high-precision instrument used to measure and analyse the electrical characteristics of semiconductor devices. It offers precise evaluation of key parameters such as current-voltage (I-V), transfer, output characteristics and resistance, with exceptional accuracy down to picoampere and microvolt levels. This precision is crucial for characterizing, modelling, and optimising the performance and reliability of transistors, memristors, diodes, and other semiconductor devices/electrochemical devices, ensuring they meet stringent performance standards.
