Deutschlandradio operates the content management system "Sophora" as a central content management platform for all digital, non-linear playout channels, in particular for the websites deutschlandfunk.de, deutschlandfunkkultur.de, deutschlandradio.de, hoerspielundfeature.de and nachrichtenleicht.de as well as its own apps "Dlf Audiothek" and "Die Nachrichten" and the supply to third-party platforms. As part of a future migration project, deutschlandfunknova.de will also be integrated into the Sophora system.A special feature in DR's Sophora environment is the self-developed playout for the websites ("Portal Delivery") and apps ("AppAPI"). The basis of the playout is the content exporter, which is responsible for exporting all live and preview content of the Sophora repository to an Elasticsearch cluster. The export of assets (usually images) to the Akamai CDN is also performed by the content exporter. Audio files are also played out via the Akamai CDN and published and de-published by Sophora.Downstream of the portal delivery, Varnish caches, whose content and content fragments are invalidated by the content exporter on request, ensure high-performance delivery of the content to the end users via Akamai Website Delivery.Customized (preprocessing) and configured Sophora importers ensure the connection of in-house systems such as the message distribution system (NCPower), program planning (Webmerlin) and audio production (dira!) and thus the import of data from these systems.
The tendered service will be divided into 3 lots ? Lot 1: Maintenance, support and further development Sophora-CMS? Lot 2: Consulting & conception Sophora-CMS? Lot 3: Further development of Deutschlandradio AppsThe subject of the service provision under Lot 1 is the maintenance, support and further development of the Sophora-CMS, all test and dev Sophora-CMS, including all system components used for the playout and import of content and for the deployment of the systems. The Sophora CMS is the central system for the digital distribution of editorial content created and acquired at Deutschlandradio. A service provider is being sought for these services who is both technically and organizationally capable of providing the services.The subject of the service provision under Lot 2 is the conception, consulting, planning and technical support within the framework of the further development of the Sophora-CMS, all test and dev Sophora-CMS, including all system components used for the playout and import of the content as well as for the deployment of the systems. The Sophora CMS is the central system for the digital distribution of editorial content created and acquired at Deutschlandradio. A service provider is sought for these services who is capable of providing the services both technically and organizationally.The subject of the service provision under Lot 3 is the further development of the existing apps for iOS and Android.
