Nepal - Hydro project consulting services

Description

You must be able to supply consulting services for:

• detailed engineering design
• preparation of tender document

for developing the Karnali Chisapani Multipurpose Project, one of the largest in the South Asian Region, in Western Nepal.

The project is expected to generate 10,800 MW of power. It offers a range of benefits on a regional level, including:

• energy
• agricultural
• flood control
• water supply
• recreational
• environmental sustainability

The government of Nepal has already conducted a feasibility study with assistance from the World Bank through Himalayan Power Consultants – a consortium comprising Acres, Shawinigan/Lavalin, SNC (Canada) and Ebasco (USA).

##Expressions of interest (EOI)

The previous date set for expression of interest was 30 April 2024. NEA is extending 30 May 2024 to assure the maximum participation by international firms. 

Selection criteria are:

• consultant will be selected under quality and cost-based selection (QCBS) method
• only hydropower projects successfully constructed and commissioned within last 7 years prior to the last date of submission of EOI will be considered for the evaluation
• cumulative experience of joint venture partners will be evaluated
• EOI will be assessed based on qualification (30%), experience (60%) and capacity (10%) of consultant and key personnel

Based on evaluation of EOI, only the top 6 shortlisted firms will be invited to submit technical and financial proposal through a request for proposal (RFP).
