Germany - H50 - Planning services for buildings and interiors - New exhaust air treatment plant

Description

A new exhaust air treatment plant (ABA) is to be installed in building H50 for KW 1, Nuremberg. This will require demolition and conversion work on the building, as the new system will generally have to be installed on the site of the existing system that is to be dismantled.

The task includes the following two services:

a) Object planning: buildings and interiors (HOAI 2021 § 33 ff.) Planning, tendering and construction supervision for all new components to be erected. These are mainly two basement ceiling slabs on which the new ABA will be installed in outdoor installation and completion/additions to a glass enclosure.

b) Specialist planning: Structural planning (HOAI 2021 § 49 ff.) for all new components to be erected and static verifications for required wall and ceiling openings

Planning, tendering and construction supervision of demolition and disposal measures are also part of the scope of work. Two barrel roofs and the existing exhaust air scrubber system are to be demolished.

The planning, tendering and construction supervision of the ABA (technical equipment) is not part of the tender. This work will be supervised by an engineering office in a separate parallel project. However, both measures (structural redesign of the building and new construction of the ABA) must be coordinated. The rough interface between the two projects is the two concrete ceiling slabs on which the ABA is to be installed.

At the moment, a 2-stream exhaust air scrubber is operated in building H50. In order to maintain ongoing operations at least at half capacity during the conversion, the new system is being built in two stages. This means that one scrubber line will be shut down and then the first line of the new ABA will be built. Once this has been commissioned, the second scrubber line is shut down and the second ABA line is built and put into operation.

The contract is to be awarded in stages: LP 1-4 and then LP 5-9.
