Description
The Department of General Services (DGS) on behalf of Bureau of Facilities Management (BFM), Fire Safety Environmental Division (FSED) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure medical services for DGS employees who may be exposed to workplace hazards requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators. Services will include, but not limited to, all necessary medical testing, monitoring and Hepatitis B vaccinations required to fulfill the employee’s essential job functions. Specific accommodations will be identified for the DGS Fire Safety Division who occasionally work in environments where they are exposed to asbestos fibers and/or other hazardous materials/environments via inhalation, or skin exposure. Under 1910, OSHA, 1910 Subpart I PPE 1910.134 Respiratory protection 1910.134(c)(4) The employer shall provide respirators, training, and medical evaluations at no cost to the employee.Medical professionals conducting the medical examinations must:a. Be licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania.b.
